Big Money, Big Oil kills speech again
In areas already reported, big oil, in this case Exxon-Mobil, has managed to keep the truth about global warming out of the hands of American students. The National Assoc. of Science Teachers has rejected an offer of 50,000 (yes, all those zeros) free copies of Al Gore's seminal work on the effects of global warming, An Inconvenient Truth, to be placed in science classrooms. The NAST groups claims that it wants to keep "special interests," out of the classrooms and does not want to make a "political" endorsement of the film's well-documented facts. But in reality the NAST has accepted huge donations of media and materials produced by the oil companies. The group has chosen sides with big money and big power over what really is an inconvenient truth.

Cheney called to the woodshed
Well it seems that the Royal House of Saud isn't too pleased with the Bush/Cheney conduct in the administration's attack on and occupation of Iraq. So the Saudi's told Dick Cheney to report for a little 'talking to.'

OK, this is really scary
Radical right-winger and disgraced former Republican Congessman Newt Gingrich, told a gathering of "free speech supporters," that the rules of free speech may have to change. Gingrich called for his crack down on the constitutional right in a speech at the annual Nackey S. Loeb First Amendment award dinner, in front of about 400 people. The former Republican hardliner wants to shut down free speech in what was an unsubstantiated claim to prevent "terrorists" from using "free speech abuse," to somehow attack national security. Apparently, his thought is: ideas are too dangerous to share.

And a little more 'proud to be a bigot' in America
An item by Robin Marty at Minnesota Monitor. This one about a Townhall article written by the self-styled "conservative" Dennis Prager. In fact Prager reveals his roots as one of the new theofacists, when he writes that Minnesota's new Congressman from the 5th CD, Keith Ellison, should not be allowed to take his oath of office on the 'Koran.' Prager goes on to equate the Koran to Hitler's Mein Kampf. Welcome to the new Jim Crow America.

More Biogtry In America
Following the story about the imams ejected from a US Airways flight from Minneapolis to Phoenix. Raw Story has an item about a item in the right-wing Washington Times. The paper claims that the Islamic religious leaders were "loudly praying," and "terrorizing" the airliner. Of course there's no substance, only a xenophobic agenda.
